Participants

"Wartburg West gives you an
opportunity to really experience what
life can offer you. While in
Denver, there are several opportunities
to be active in the city, both through
the internship you will hold and the
people you have a chance to
meet. Take hold of these
opportunities, and you will have an
experience you will never forget while
learning more about yourself than you had
ever expected."
Dawn Drury, '04, Biology
"W.W. was a great experience for me
because of the diverse, urban setting it
exposed me to. My internship taught me a
lot about myself. For the most part I saw
my true work ethic and also had a chance
to hear what others thought of it. It
seems my co-workers were happier with my
work ethic than I was! I was in a
position I've never been in before: My
decisions played an important role to the
company's future operations!"
Marcus 'ABE' Knecht, '04. Computer
Science & Minor in Religion
"Wartburg West is one of the best
things I could have done while at
Wartburg. It helped me realize where my
passion lies and gave me a greater sense
of direction. On top of that, Denver is
an absolutely amazing place to
live."
Becca Andersen, '04, Communication Arts
"Wartburg West offers more than just
career opportunities, it's a chance to
explore your independence through your
job, new people, and
activities. The experiences
are endless! It is a life
altering experience that may never come
again."
-Dia Dohlman, '04, Business

"Wartburg West has been a great off
campus experience for everyone out here.
Not only did we form a community within
the WW apartment, but we got the chance
to be part of an urban community-through
classes, community projects and
internships. It's a valuable
experience."
-Alexis R. Jansonius, '05, Communication
Arts & Communication Design
"Denver...GORGEOUS!!"
-Travis L. Anderson, '04, Business
Administration, Minor in Economics
"Being a student teacher out here in
Denver has been an amazing
experience. It has allowed me
to more fully experience the diversity
that Wartburg teaches and treasures as an
important part of our college
experience."
-Mickie Toops, '04, Elementary Education
"The Wartburg West program has
provided me with interactive insights on
urban living and the serious community
issues associated with city life. The
knowledge I have gained from class visits
to various community groups has helped me
value the concept of volunteering and
service. In addition, the Wartburg West
program has given me the opportunity to
intern at a progressive organization
where I learned various skills in my
field and applied them respectively. This
experience is a unique contribution to my
Wartburg College adventure"

"Wartburg West is a great
opportunity, I mean where else can you
live in an urban setting with other
Wartburg students and learn what it takes
to be an active member. Not to mention
getting work experience in some of the
best companies in the country. At
Wartburg West, you have it made."
-Amy Serflaten, '04, Communication Arts
"Wartburg West is something everyone
should experience. It really helped me
realize I am capable of doing so much
more than I ever thought I could."
-Kira Johnson , '04, Communication Arts
" Wartburg West let me see a whole
new area of the country, while also
seeing a new side of myself as I learned
to be in a larger city and get new
experiences in my field of
study. I think I became much
more independent through this
experience."
-Holly Dorenkamp, ' 04, Psychology
"WW has allowed me to experience a
great internship possibility at a fast
growing public relations internship in
the heart of Denver. I have made long
lasting relationships with all of the
participants and alumni that sponsor so
many activities for us."
