Community members sang "We Will Overcome" as they marched in rememberance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination 40 years ago. Friday's program featured prayers, speeches and performances by Terence Swims and Cree Xiong.


Students miss trays despite benefits

Last week, 1,876 Mensa-goers ate their food with out having a tray to carry it on. Trayless week was an attempt to reduce food waste as part of Earth Week.

Participants serve in diverse locations
More than 50 students will embark on three service trips during tour week. Participants will work with various organizations including the Lutheran Disaster Response, Habitat for Humanity and Christ’s Body Ministries.

SoccerBaseball goes 2-1 against the Duhawks
The Wartburg baseball team rebounded from a 14-13 loss to Loras Friday night by closing out the three-game Iowa Conference series with two wins Saturday at Hertel Field.

Scholtz takes year-long position in capital city
Professor of English Greg Scholtz is taking a one-year sabbatical to work in the national office of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) in Washington, D.C.

Track hosts Wartburg Select meet
The Wartburg track and field teams brought home second- and seventh-place finishes as they hosted the Wartburg Outdoor Select.

Wartburg College Circuit to make its debut this fall
Campus events are inadvertently swept under the rug from time to time, despite a student body of only around 1,800. A new Web site, set to premiere next fall, will attempt to remedy that.

Tennis has difficult weekend
The Wartburg men’s and women’s tennis teams traveled to Winona, Minn. last weekend to play in a triangular meet with St. Mary’s University and University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
