The Wartburg men’s tennis team went 3-1 this weekend and tallied a conference victory earlier this week.
The Knight’s traveled to Wisconsin to take on Dominican University and Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee on Saturday and St. Norberts College in DePere on Sunday.

“This weekend was to serve as a tune up for the next few weeks,” head coach Benjamin Oestreich said. “We were on the road playing teams I’m familiar with, and I think we’ll face some even competition. We needed to get through the trip healthy and pick up a few wins going into the last stretch of the season.”

The Knights’ one loss came from their Sunday match against St. Norberts. Wartburg fell to the Green
Knights 2-7.

The weekend put the Knights overall record at 7-10.

Earlier last week, Wartburg took on conference opponent Simpson College. The Knights were successful in getting their first conference win as they defeated the Storm 9-0.

“The men played with confidence from start to finish. It would be great if this was the indication what we can do with the rest of the season,” Oestreich said. “We’ll need to stay focused if we want to do anything in the conference tournament.”
