| Aspiration astounds Wartburg | ||
| A piece of abstract artwork was added to the Wartburg campus recently. The sculpture is called Aspiration. It is located on the east side of the library and adds to the modern theme of architecture. | ||

| October is AIDS Awareness Month | ||
| The Health and Wellness Center and Campus Ministry are teaming up during the month of October to reach the community on AIDS awareness. Given the fact that someone is infected with HIV every 13 minutes and one person dies every 11 minutes with complications related to AIDS, it is something that needs to be given attention. AIDS has already touched at least two families within the Waverly community and has the potential to reach the students of the Wartburg community. AIDS is an ever-growing, very dangerous, deadly problem and that deserves everyone's attention. | ||

| Freshmen and transfer students took tours of the Pathways Center, located on the third floor of the Vogel Library, with their floor-mates last week as part of acquainting themselves with Wartburg life. | ||

| Cohens featured in science presentation | ||
| The American Chemical Society is hosting a dinner and presentation for Paul and Brenda Cohen, authors of the book America's Scientific Treasures. It will be held Oct. 12 with appetizers at 5:30 p.m. in the Castle Room. Dinner will be at 6:15. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students. The presentation will follow at 7:30 in Voecks Auditorium. | ||

| Vogel Library to be dedicated | ||
| The newly finished Robert and Sally Vogel Library will be dedicated on Saturday, October 16 at 9:30 a.m. as a part of the 1999 Homecoming celebrations. After the ceremony, there will be library tours available starting at 10:30 a.m. | ||
