requests for certain materials. It includes Chinese novels, journals,
and newspapers, as well as links to important databases in Chinese
studies.
- CHOICE
(Current Reviews for Academic Libraries) reviews significant
current books and electronic media of interests to those in higher
education. Each year CHOICE publishes more than 6.500 reviews
by subject experts.
- Great Scouts! provides a useful overview of important Web starting points across a variety of subjects.
- Guide
to Grammar and Writing is a comprehensive guide for grammar
and basic writing and contains a wealth of information. The grammar
portion of the page gives rules and examples followed by quizzes.
The composition portion of the page discusses paragraph development

is an excellent jumping-off point for anyone doing research on
the internet. This site's main collections include: reference, exhibits,
especially for librarians, magazines and serials, newspapers, on-line
texts, and web searching, as well as extensive teens and youth collections.

Scout Project shows the user the way to the best resources
on the Internet. Librarians and educators do the filtering for
the browser.
- Iowa
Public Library Statistics offers the total expenditures,
total collection, total circulation, total reference transactions,
hours open per week, director's salary per hour, and total square
feet.
- Marie
Time Capsule lets you input any date and get a couple of
pages of news headlines, sports events, top songs of that year,
and average U.S. prices for a house, car, milk, gas, bread, and
a postage stamp.
- OneLook Dictionaries allows for easy, quick word searches in more than six hundred online dictionaries.
- Rare Book, Manuscript,
and Special Collections Library, Duke University is an easy
to use website that is easy to navigate. Browsable by subject,
illustration, advertising, date, and title, it is also searchable
by more than 20 fields.

- UNESCO Archives Portal is a new metasite from UNESCO which is offered as an international portal for both archivists and archive users. At present, the site includes 725 links to sites of archival institutions around the world and resources related to records and archives management.
- Webopedia is the
number one online encyclopedia and search engine dedicated to
computer technology.
- Women's Studies is an excellent database for anyone looking for information
on women's studies or women's issues in general. It has everything
from documents, and photos to conference announcements, calls
