Text Size Switcher
Many users find online text is too small to read comfortably, if at all. In an effort to build a more accesible Web, several websites have included the option of increasing the size of text with a single mouse-click.
The Text Size Switcher is a JavaScript which allows users to do just that: increase the size of the text on this site. With a standards-compliant web browser — except for some reason Opera 5 — the effect of these links — “Default” and “Large” — is to alter the size of this site’s text accordingly. Additionally, your browser should recall your preference the next time you visit this site. NOTE: Netscape 4.x will not render this site properly and cannot use the Switcher.
The script is open source and available for download. For more information, please read this article by the script’s programmer, Paul Sowden, or visit his personal web site.
The Castle’s default body text size is 10 pixels, or approximately 10 points in height. The “Large” style features a size of 13 pixels. The switcher is not yet universally supported on this site. We request your patience as we adapt all of The Castle’s web pages.
