Upon Mt. Olympus

Amidst the buzz of youth and yellow jackets,
Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera, the rulers
of my world gather upon their hill.

Munching on greasy, salty french fries
I listen to triumphs and trials of
their current lives. My future

approaches too quickly, too soon.
Seven of popcorns, draw two;
Gecko plays an eight and skips me.

End point of order. It’s Radar’s go.
Every year, more descend to Earth,
excited for the chance to explore the world.

I face Mt. Olympus by myself now,
strengthened by the goddesses.
I await my go; I’m ready to say
“Last card.”
