Autumn Gone

Fall over me
Your holy colors
to this child in need
of a change in this charcoal heart
Like trees in autumn
I need Your color in me

Blow over me
Your holy fire
to this heart in need
of refinement before the winter comes
Let Your fire warm me
in Your arms of love

Pour over me
Your holy water
to this fallen seed
I’m feeling brittle and I need
a little of Your rain
to soften me

The winter is coming
my heart is crying out
I’m feeling gray, Lord,
hardened as the ground
Only You can take the chill
and blaze it
with holy fire
