Background: Hi, my name
is Eric Ulrichs and I am currently a third-year student at
Wartburg
College in Waverly, Iowa. I grew up in
Greene, Iowa, a small
farming community with a population just under 1,100. Coming from
a small, blue-collar town, work ethic was engrained into me. I
became a paper boy at an early age and I soon learned the value of hard
work. This has stuck with me throughout high school and college,
and I am looking to apply it in my career.

2004 Class 1-A State Golf
High School: At
North Butler High
School, I was the only male four year, four sport athlete in my
graduating class. A couple of highlights from my athletics career
include qualifying for the 2004 Iowa state golf tournament, and making
all-district honorable mention in football in 2004. While competing in athletics I was also a member
of the high school band and I was an actor in several plays.
Although I maintained a busy extra-curricular life, school was still my
number one priority as I graduated the salutatorian of the class of 2005
at North Butler High School.
Hobbies/Interests: I no longer
compete in sports at Wartburg College, and as a competitive person, I
have had to find other interests. I have recently picked up the
guitar and I now own an acoustic and an electric guitar. I enjoy
playing in my free time as it allows me to relax after a long day of
studying and school work. Also, I enjoy meeting new people and
making friends. My friends and I from home have also started
wakeboarding during the summers, and it has allowed me to bond with my
friends and relax after work. Being involved in sports has
provided me with a need to be around and work with people. It has
given me great communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, that I
can apply in school and in the work place. As a Business
Administration major with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in
Leadership, these skills that I have developed will help me in my
marketing career and in life outside of work. I have recently been
accepted to Wartburg West in
Denver, Colorado during the Fall Term of
2008-2009, and I am looking forward to apply my skills in a marketing or
advertising internship
to be determined.
