Chinese education has
been famous of its harsh disciplines and large workload, which has
driven students to focus only on their academic work and hardly care
about experiences off-campus that are important to their lives.
However, while I have been as diligent as possible on campus and
achieved good grades and high academic performances, I have also
successfully stood out of the majority of Chinese students in all
kinds of activities off-campus. Some of the activities seemed has
very little relevance to my majors, but as an old Chinese wisdom has
indicated, "knowledge can not only be acquired from teachers; a wise
person can learn from and be inspired by any kinds of experiences
that he goes through".
