About Me

Background: Hi, my name is Jon Smith and I am current third year student at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. I grew up in the small town of Walworth, WI. Because of Walworth's location, Japan decided to build a soy sauce factory there 50 years ago. Kikkoman Foods, Inc. has provided jobs for many including myself. Kikkoman has given me an appreciation for work and has helped me develop the work ethic I have used in college to succeed.  While growing up I learned from my father that you always have to work hard for what you want in life and that is something I believe in.

High School: Being a three sport athlete at Big Foot High School while maintaining good grades allowed me to develop the dedication needed to attend Wartburg College. I graduated valedictorian of the class of 2005.

Hobbies/Interests: Some of my hobbies include the outdoors and sports. Being a leader on and off the field is something I have always had a knack for. I believe communication is a key aspect to being a great leader. I also enjoy hanging out with friends. I think it is very important to have a positive social life because it is the positive relationships in my life that have shaped the type of individual that I am. I am currently entering my third season in baseball for the Wartburg Knights. I have developed great organizational skills while being a student-athlete and have learned how to manage my time wisely. I am double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration and look forward to gaining valuable experience at an internship this coming summer.
