Wartburg Football
Above: Photo from our game against Coe College in 2006 I have been a member of the Wartburg Football team since the Fall of 2005. Wartburg College is known for its outstanding football program in an extremely competitive Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. While in the football program I have been a three year started at linebacker and part of a combined record of 23-6. My success on the field was rewarded by a second team All Iowa Conference Linebacker honor. Through my college participation in athletics, I have concluded that there are keys to success that are applicable on the football field, in the classroom, and in the workplace. Some of these keys include: communication, leadership, teamwork, and management skills. As I come to the end of my college career, it is apparent that many of the skills I have obtained both as a student and athlete, will be tremendously useful in the workplace.

Community Builders I was involved in an activity called community builders during the fall semester of 2007. This program is to help 6th grade students understand the importance of service-learning and helping the community they are involved in. I helped teach 6th grade students from the Waverly Shell Rock area about the terms community, learning, service, and service-learning. During this program my skills as a leader were significantly improved. Community Builders is a wonderful program and I am glad I was able to make a difference in these children's lives.
